Gianpiero Actis termine ses études au lycée Massimo D’Azeglio de Turin
(1964) où il suit les leçons de Riccardo Chicco, professeur d’Art et peintre fameux.
Après son doctorat en médicine, il travaille à l’Hôpital Ophtalmologique comme médecin en alternant l’intérêt pour l’ophtalmologie à l’intérêt pour l’art.
Depuis 1980 son activité créative devient plus constante et il prend part à plusieurs expositions personnelles et collectives.
Les travaux de Gianpiero Actis – qui se distinguent pour un dynamisme ardemment coloré – sont exposés en permanente au Dylan Thomas Centre, Swansea (Pays de Galles), liés aux poésies de Aeronwy Thomas, fille du poète anglais Dylan Thomas, et ses tableaux se trouvent dans des collections publiques et privées en Italie, au Royaume Uni, en France, au Japon.
Ces derniers temps il s’est adonné à la diffusion du mouvement artistique littéraire IMAGE&POESIE, fondé à Turin le 9 novembre 2007, avec Aeronwy Thomas.
Le mouvement propose aux artistes et aux poètes d’expérimenter des moments de « créativité croisée ».

GIANPIERO ACTIS

Eye surgeon at Torino Ophthalmic Hospital.He attended Massimo D’Azeglio secondary school, specializing in classics. His Art teacher was Prof. Riccardo Chicco, a famous painter, who directed him towards the world of painting.Since the ‘80s Gianpiero Actis has created works using different techniques: oil, acrylic colours, collage.He exhibited a painting at the INTERNATIONAL ART SHOW held at G. PEROTTI SCHOOL of Torino (May- June 1990).In June 2005 his painting FLOATING EYES was published on the poster of a Medical Congress:“Lo stato dell’arte in Oftalmologia”.In January 2006 the painting STREET LAMP was printed on the cover of the booklet TORINO DI LUCE.In February and in March 2006 his paintings were exhibited at SANPAOLO BANK and at ULTIME FRONTIERE GALLERY, in Torino.His work BEAMS OF ICE (from the WINTER LIGHTS series ) - linked with a poem by Aeronwy Thomas - has been chosen for the banner and the pennants of WINTER UNIVERSIADE –TORINO 2007.Lately his works have been inspired by Aeronwy Thomas’ poems, “moments of cross fertilization”, according to the words of the well known British writer.

BIOGRAFIA

I primi interessi artistici del dott. GIANPIERO ACTIS – medico oculista presso l’Ospedale Oftalmico di Torino – risalgono, negli anni del liceo classico Massimo D’Azeglio, agli insegnamenti del prof. Riccardo Chicco, docente di Storia dell’Arte e noto pittore.
Soprattutto a partire dagli anni ’80 si è dedicato alla creazione di opere con varie tecniche: olio, acrilico, collage.
Il suo quadro “FLOATING EYES” è stato pubblicato sulla locandina del congresso “Lo stato dell’arte in Oftalmologia” (giugno 2005) ed altre sue pubblicazioni artistiche sono state successivamente utilizzate per posters e locandine di numerosi congressi oculistici.
Nel gennaio 2006 il dipinto “IL LAMPIONE” compare sulla copertina della pubblicazione TORINO DI LUCE, edito con la collaborazione dell’ AEM.
Per il gonfalone e i gagliardetti delle UNIVERSIADI di TORINO 2007 ha realizzato l’opera RAGGI DI GHIACCIO, della serie LUCI D’INVERNO, collegata alla poesia WINTER LIGHTS della scrittrice AERONWY THOMAS, figlia del grande poeta inglese Dylan Thomas.
Le sue opere sono state richieste dal DYLAN THOMAS CENTRE di Swansea (Galles, GB) per l’esposizione dell’annuale Festival (27 ottobre – 9 novembre 2007) ed alcuni quadri fanno ora parte della “permanent exhibition” di tale centro.
Gianpiero Actis, con Aeronwy Thomas, è uno dei soci fondatori del Movimento artistico-letterario “IMMAGINE & POESIA”, ufficialmente presentato al Teatro Alfa di Torino il 9 novembre 2007.
